What is Brand Voice?

The tone and personality of a property or portfolio in written marketing — friendly, luxury, playful, etc.

Brand voice is the consistent personality expressed in marketing copy — word choice, humor level, formality, and resident-facing tone. Two properties with identical logos can feel different if one sounds corporate and another sounds neighborly.

Multifamily brand voice must align with fair housing standards and the physical product. Luxury towers use editorial restraint; student housing may use casual emoji and event-driven energy. Portfolio brands often define voice guidelines alongside visual brand standards.

Distributed teams drift without examples. Approved caption templates, FAQ snippets for leasing, and content calendar prompts keep onsite managers on-voice when they post locally. Pair voice guidelines with visual templates so every touchpoint feels like one brand, not fifty individuals guessing.
