Design Assistant
Questions about creating on-brand multifamily designs with Lineups Design Assistant.
Learn more about Design AssistantDo I need design skills to use Lineups?
Not at all! Lineups Design Assistant is built for people with no design experience. Simply pick a template, customize it with your brand colors and logo, and publish. Our auto-branding feature does the heavy lifting.
How is Lineups different from Canva?
Canva is a design tool that takes some design skill and time to get exactly what you need. In Design Assistant, you won't find an editor where you drag and drop, resize, or align elements yourself. Another big difference: Design Assistant was built strictly for multifamily teams, so it includes things you'll never find in Canva — like a floorplans option.
Can I use my own brand colors and logos?
Absolutely. When you or a member of our team sets up your brand, the app first tries to extract all the relevant brand information from your PDF brand guidelines. If no guidelines are available, we look at your website to create the initial brand profile. After that, just drop your logos, photos, and floorplans into a bucket and the app organizes everything for you. It's a beautiful thing.
What formats can I create?
Create content for every platform: Instagram posts and stories, Facebook posts, print flyers, email headers, digital signage, and more. All from a single template.
Can multiple team members use the same account?
On a paid plan, yes. Invite everyone who could benefit from your digital media — corporate, onsite teams, partners, agencies, photographers, and more. When it comes to your creative content, we want to make it easy for everyone to create on-brand designs so you have a consistent brand presence.
Do you have a free trial?
Yes, we do. You can get started by creating a personal account. All you need is access to your brand guide (if you have one), plus your photos, logos, floorplans, and videos (if you have them). In about 5 minutes, you'll be ready to rock and roll.
Can I publish directly to social media?
Yes. With our Social Planning and Publishing add-on, you can post directly to all the social networks in just a few clicks.
What kind of support do you offer?
In the app, every user has a chat option with a real person. We even offer free video training sessions for teams. Support is where we really shine — if you're not happy, we're not happy.
Can I import my existing designs?
Kind of. If you have existing designs, we can recreate them in the formats you need so they're responsive and brand-compliant. Or, if you have some design skills and want to build them in a modern design system, create a free account at Creatomate to get started.
How much does Lineups cost?
I'd visit our pricing page for current pricing on everything we offer.
Do most customers replace Canva, use Lineups alongside Canva, or use Lineups for a different workflow entirely?
Most customers replace Canva for their onsite users. At the corporate office, where teams have more design skills, they use Lineups when they need to generate content quickly and use Canva (or a similar tool) for one-off designs.
How does the fair-housing-compliant copy and design layer work? Is it rules-based, template-based, AI guardrails, human review, or some mix?
Fair-housing compliance runs through two AI-powered gates that every design must pass. First, at copy generation: when the AI writes copy, it's instructed to produce fair-housing-compliant language from the start. Second, at final render: when the finished graphic or video is produced, it's reviewed for fair-housing compliance, grammar, and brand accuracy. The layer works as AI guardrails rather than hard rules — each audit surfaces its findings, and you decide whether to act on them or proceed as-is. On top of that, every design that gets posted has a final human approver.
How can I export my designs?
Every design you create can be downloaded, or you can copy a shareable URL to send it out.
How do you use AI in the design process?
It all starts with a solid brand profile, which is created during setup. Once we have a profile that captures your voice and tone, along with your important features and amenities, the copy we generate isn't just good — it's relevant to your brand. This applies to more than designs: it also powers social captions and even auto-generated alt text.
How do I add my floorplans to my designs?
Easy. As long as you start from a floorplan design or reel, when you select a floorplan we add the floorplan metadata for you — name, beds, baths, and square footage. We'll even remove the background so it looks beautiful on a color background.
Can I add QR codes to a design?
Yes. Since we already have your website URL and social accounts, you can pick one from a dropdown and we'll automatically add the QR code to your design. For a one-off QR code, you can always add the URL yourself.
Can I add maps to a design?
Yes — and they look amazing because they use your brand colors. Just search for the location where you want to drop the pin, and we'll take care of the rest.
Do you support music?
Yes. You won't find the licensed tracks that Meta offers, but you'll have a wide variety of music to choose from.
Do you support carousels?
Yes — and they're so easy to design and work with. A carousel works like any other template; it's just much wider, so you can see how your content spans pages. When you're done, we'll slice the design into individual pages you can use for posting or printing.
Can we design for print?
Yes. When you download a print design, it comes in PDF format.
