Octoberfest: Pretzel Twisting Party
This Oktoberfest Pretzel-Making Class is a fantastic way to celebrate the season, learn a new skill, and build community spirit among apartment residents. Enjoy and Viel Spaß (Have fun)!

List of Ingredients
- Flour
- Yeast
- Salt
- Baking soda
- Butter
- Milk (depending on the recipe)
- Optional toppings: coarse salt, cinnamon sugar, etc.

- Large mixing bowls
- Wooden spoons
- Measuring cups and spoons
- Kitchen towels
- Baking sheets
- Parchment paper
- Pot (for boiling water)
- Slotted spatula
- Save the Date: 4 weeks before the event
- Invitations: 2 weeks before the event
- Reminders: 3 days before the event
Making pretzels isn't hard, but it does require some flour mixing skills. So if this is your first time, you may want to practice before your event.
What we like about this recipe is you can prep all the dough before hand (at least 2 hours). Then you have time to clean up the mess before your guest arrive. they can start rolling and twisting.
There are a lot of recipes out there, but here is one we thought was nice and simple.
When making pretzels (or really any flour and yiest product) is you need to set aside time for rising or resting the dough.
